The Fly on the wall Takes Flight at the Black Sea Animation Workshop!

What an incredible week it has been for The Fly on the wall! We are thrilled to share that our project participated in the Black Sea Animation Workshop in Sofia, Bulgaria, and the experience has been genuinely transformative for all of us at Vapur.

While our director Şule represented the project in person, the insights and knowledge gathered during this intensive, week-long workshop have energized our entire team. Led by renowned French mentors Corinne Destombes and Olivier Catherin, the program provided a masterclass in project development. It wasn't just about refining our creative vision; it was a deep dive into the precise art of how to present our story to the world.

Throughout the week, the workshop pushed us to dismantle our ideas, polish the project's structure, and build a more compelling narrative around it. The grand finale of this rigorous training was a public pitching session. Having the opportunity to present The Fly on the wall to industry experts, fully equipped with the new tools and perspectives gained from our mentors, was an unforgettable milestone for the project.

We are deeply grateful to the organizers, Sofia Animation Lab, Compote Collective, Anim.ist, and all the regional partners for creating such a nurturing, culturally rich, and collaborative environment.

Now, we are gathering our notes, syncing up as a team, and diving back into development with fresh energy, refined pitch decks, and a much stronger shared vision.

Next stop: Pitching at the MIFA market during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival this June! We can’t wait to share more updates as our little fly continues its big journey.

Stay tuned!
